On Friday 20th April, about midday, you might have heard or seen a helicopter landing and taking off from near the Park Farm farmhouse, not far from the Bishop’s Pond due southeast of Blockley. It was an air ambulance.

One of a group of ramblers, an elderly lady had hurt her ankle on the slope coming down. This happened near the Park Farm farmhouse and the farmer’s son went to help. An emergency call was made and a  first responder quickly attended but found it difficult to move the patient. An ambulance was then called and the Air Ambulance swooped in.

Picture above shows the patient still on the ground by the right of way
with the helicopter waiting on nearby piece of level ground.

According to Christine Stapleton (farmer’s wife), in the ensuing excitement, the homestead gate was left open. As a result, there was a massive invasion and attempted coup by sheep  during the night. There was a lot of bleating and breach of the peace. The busy farmer had to deal with this unscheduled problem and was understandably not best pleased.
